As a brand owner, I don’t like not having control over how discounts are handed out. We could be giving away margins to customers who were going to buy anyway.

It only steps in when someone is genuinely stuck or leaving.

And it keeps a control group running permanently, so we can see what it's actually contributing rather than taking credit for sales we'd have made anyway.
