PLEASE KNOW -- If you delete a product from Shopify for any reason (no stock, discounted etc) they remain on facebook in 'archived' or 'staging' status. While in this status, they don't appear in your FB shop but STILL APPEAR in your FB dynamic ads. After 25+ emails FB have no idea why or how to resolve. Shopify say issue is with FB, go back to them. Had to read Shopify app terms & conditions to learn app providers need to provide customer support. Still waiting for a response. Workaround was to remove entire catalogue from FB and re-sync (goodbye to all current ads on FB, had to re-make them all and go back to learning phase). Costed endless time and money. Both parties above think that's a workable solution every time. We have 1000+ products with 50 variants each Issue remains unresolved for 2 months and counting. **RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER'S REPLY --
Thanks for confirming via email that Shopify stand firm in the fact there is nothing it can do to correct this major issue - with a channel on your own platform. You could have just said this in your response below instead of waiting to email it to us. Cheers.
Hi there,
William here from the marketplaces team at Shopify, thank you for taking the time to review our app. We're actively trying to reduce sources of frustration in the Facebook channel so I'll reach out to you and discuss your specific case.

To advertise that FB links easily & seamlessly to Shopify is misleading and false. For some users, perhaps it does, but if you’re one of the denied...I can almost guarantee you will be as disappointed as me. My shop (selling painted furniture) hasn't been published bc apparently it doesn't comply with FB Commerce eligibility requirements. Like other reviewers, the specific non-compliance requirements aren’t highlighted, you just get a link to ALL of them. Undoubtedly the reply to this feedback will be that “this situation is entirely controlled by FB and out of Shopify’s hands”. If that’s the case, how does Shopify not have a direct line to FB for their customers for issues like these? This is not a unique problem (read all the 1 star reviews). 4 unanswered support requests from 18 Jan onward, 7 different forums and nearly 2 hours on Shopify chat and still no fix. Though I did get some advice from Shopify chat...and I quote “There are also other forms of social media advertising that you can look at as well. There is Pinterest, TikTok and Snapchat. I can definitely see your furniture on Pinterest : ) it suits that demographic. And if you can make some cool videos with TikTok, who knows! Maybe you can find success outside of Facebook” I’m speechless.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and sharing your experience. Undoubtedly, I can certainly see how this has been a very frustrating experience given you are still waiting to hear back from Facebook. I understand you are wanting Shopify to help further along the review process with Facebook and although we would love to be able to help, we do not have a direct line to Facebook support at this time. Please do keep in mind that Facebook is a third party platform and, as such, they do not share with us the reasons why a commerce account was not approved. From our end we can only see what is not working, but Facebook does not tell us why it is not working. Hence, this why Facebook Support are the only ones capable of giving you a precise answer and reviewing your account.
Merchant feedback is very important to us, so rest assured I will be sharing your review with our developers to see if this would be possible in the future. Even though, we were not able to give you more information on why your commerce account was not approved by Facebook, I still want to ensure you have all the resources to contact Facebook so they can look into this for you. I will be sending you an email shortly to discuss. - Anna, Shopify Support
Impossible to use. I installed the the Sales Channel app, pixel, and then there's the business manager, that helps track everything. You have to make sure they all line up and that the admin account is your personal account and then add your business pages, catalogs, and ad managers as assets...to the correct account to have permissions to manage them. After googling/youtubing all of that to get everything in the right place, all of the products in my catalog get approved, but my store gets rejected!??!? I'm not sure what I'm missing. I don't know if you have to have X amount of followers or what is wrong. It says my store is not approved and it directs me to the business requirements/eligibility pagessss, (basically lengthy terms & conditions section). After reading it, I'm even more confused because my store should be eligible...However, it doesn't give you the specific reason or problem that needs to be fixed. I've messaged the "help link" but have yet to receive a response. I've lost daysss...trying to figure out the Metametrics puzzle...I thought inserting code to verify my domain was going to be the hardest part...unfortunately, I was wrong. Verifying my domain at least had step by step instructions available directions on where to go if it didn't work. Good Luck!
Hey there,
Adil here from Shopify. Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Facebook Channel with us. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with the Facebook channel. When it comes to restricted accounts, it is completely handled by Facebook. However, I'm going to follow up with you in an email to provide you with some information that can help.

This app randomly generates posts from Shopify to Facebook when new products are added to the Facebook Channel, rendering social media marketing campaigns via Facebook and/or Instagram totally useless. There is no facility in Facebook to turn off these posts. We have had very negative feedback from our followers that these bland posts are irritating. We are almost certainly losing Facebook followers. We ask that Shopify puts pressure on Facebook to rectify this situation as soon as possible. Note also that the Developer Reply to EJay's review does NOT work - see below: Developer reply

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback! That definitely sounds frustrating and not ideal. In that regard, we have had a few merchants experience the same issue. The issue that you've described is coming from a setting within your Facebook notifications and not from our app directly. We aren't able to control how Facebook displays your product updates however, we did some digging on our end and the way you would turn off these notifications is to go to your Business Page Settings > Page Updates > click on Edit > and turn off post notifications so that they don't automatically update every change. This should turn off the automatic posts. Thank you! - Anna, Shopify Support
Hey there - thank you for taking the time to submit a review to us! We are always looking at ways to improve our app. The page updating automatically is currently an issue on Facebook's end and I have sent you an email providing you some instruction on how you can contact them directly. Look forward to hearing from you! - Jake, Shopify Support
this app ruins the business and wast our time and energy. We can not link and sell on Instagram. It works with Facebook only. It says our shop meets all requirments. there are 3 bugs. 1. Verify your domain
We need to verify that you own the domain that you entered in your account. We'll walk you through the steps needed for verification, or you can submit a different domain for review
Appeal unsuccessful
Your review was unsuccessful. domain could not be connected to your shop. -> it is perfectly connected!! how can we set up our store without connecting it to shopify!!! Please think twice before you speak. 2. This website is not approved
Product unavailable on your website
To use this website, your products must be sold on the website connected to your account. -> they are pretty much 100% sold very clearly and surely. 4 year old boy can even see it. who does even ask for it withtou selling products!! 3. Your account has been rejected for a shop on Instagram
After reviewing your submitted domain, we found that it doesn't comply with our Commerce Eligibility Requirements. If you think there’s been a mistake, you can request another review. -> Like I said there is no problem to sell on Facebook. It says account quality is good. we have asked to review over and over. no improvement. is there any workers?

Hi there!
Thank you for your patience as we investigated your issue. From my understanding, we have now successfully unblocked you, so you should be all set. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for using the Facebook & Instagram app!
Thanks,
Steve
Shopify / FB should decide if it is making apps for Professionals or Enthusiasts. Only a professional IT person could get through the hurdles to make this app work, but only a non-professional would be interested in the app’s stunted fb campaign features. Congratulations Shopify, thus this app will make almost no one happy. :-)
-5 stars for the catalog service - great.
-2 stars for the campaign setup - not good.
-Can’t link or talk to fb ad accounts even when using the same pixel.
-Can only setup mini-stub campaigns with virtually zero fb options Available.
-Can’t connect to campaigns setup in fb (which is the only way to the options)
-Can’t report back results to Shopify dash board (except the in-app mini stubb campaigns.
The catalog service is good. Perhaps just use that. That’s what we do.
PS Shopify it is like the Ragu Spaghetti Sauce Business Case. The answer after 25 years of research is there is no single most popular flavor. That’s why every maker makes 5 different flavors today. Make an app for the professionals with either full fb connectivity or full in app campaign features. Make a separate app for the enthusiasts and beginners that’s easy.
We see the problem and hence gave it 3 stars - notice how that’s the lowest picked rating...there is no middle ground.

Can´t use facebook shop, it´s really slow and it doesn´t work with safari only with chrome.
Thank you for sharing your feedback! This sounds like a browser-related issue, which can often be resolved by clearing your cookies and cache. Shopify requires an up-to-date web browser to make sure that you can use all of Shopify's features. I am going to send you an email shortly to review how to optimize your browser. - Emily, Shopify Support
I used this app to migrate to the new Facebook channel. Made the process short & simple without issue.
