Facebook & Instagram

I live and operate my store from Nigeria. I don't know why up till now in 2023, I still cannot operate this sales channel just because of my country of residence. This has extremely limited my Shopify experience since I cannot connect Facebook or Instagram as a sales channel. Hopefully someday you get to trust and list my country so I can utilize this app.

Everything was good until now. But now it happens from time to time that the data is not transferred correctly. Multiple shops are now drastically overreporting conversions. This has to have something to do with how the pixel is installed via this app. Probably counting the refresh of the order confirmation as a sale.
I am not talking about one or two conversions more, it's a 10-20x! I had 10 sales but over 100 were reported to the admanager. This seriously messes with ad delivery and interpreting data.
I'll update this review to five stars if someone fixes this problem.

This app is junk. Slow to load, glitchy, doesn't allow me to easily update our newest items and I only realized this when we started running ads and wondering why we had all these products being advertised that we didn't even sell.

HORRIBLE support! If you contact Meta about an issue with the Facebook channel they blame the issue on Shopify and tell you to contact Shopify since the channel was downloaded on their platform. However, when you contact Shopify they re-direct you back to Meta because Meta developed, runs, and owns the app. Similar to every other app not developed by Shopify, it is Meta's responsibility to fix issues and provide app support, but they refuse to do this. It's a useless and endless circle with zero solutions.

Horrible - I have been trying to connect this app for months. It is a constant problem, and even with assistance from Facebook support I cannot get it to install and synch properly to the products I assign to the Facebook catalogue. A total nightmare, no proper documentation of how to install and definitely not easy. They also now have 2 apps - Facebook + Facebook Shops, very confusing and neither of them work! They need to fix this!
Update: October 2026 - The app still doesn't work and it always shows incorrect information on products including an incorrect return policy causing major liability for our store. We have had to disable it.

Horrible experience, not able to connect with my Facebook profile, so I can not get precise conversion measurement.
Please fix this app so it can be functional!
