not worth the money, I spent over 110 usd for an optimization that analyzed all my pics and quoted the process, said 30% will be saved in size or space. So I paid, it did the optimization and then it said it saved 12% - barely any difference.
Does the job to an extent. I assumed that it would always optimise the images. In some cases I found that some images ended up larger than what I had before :/ . There should be some way to void any images that are larger after 'optimisation'.
Great app to minimize size of images.

The Minifier works well, and seemed to process images and shrink them. Shows a nice history of optimizations performed or cancelled, how many images were updated, and the savings in size. We reduced by 45% and it was easy and time saving compared to updating each image manually.
I paid $18.21 for my product photos to be optimized and they're ruined now. Pictures are very blurry, pixeled and discolored, and there is NO reversal. These are hundreds of photos. I have to delete the photos from 80% of my listings and reupload the photos because they are so bad. Time and money wasted.
Hello Alexis Daoud Jewelry,
We're truly sorry that you've met some difficulties while using the app.
Please, let me inform you that the app provides a 30-day free backup image storage, during which images can be reverted.
I wish you had addressed to us earlier so that we could assist you with it.
Rest assure that we've contacted Shopify and initiated full refund for you.
It should reach you within these few days.
I hope that we can resolve this issue with mutual understanding.
Best regards,
Minifier SEO Image Optimizer team
Does the job! PLEAS KEEP IN MIND that after the app requests payment confirmation you cannot back up, which I did because I wanted to change the optimisation criteria and I ended up losing the whole Optimisation and was charged for nothing. I eventually had to pay AGAIN to optimise the photos with the right criteria.
Good Simple and cheap way of minnimising image size and editing alt tags. Note due to the large number of images on my site this was a big task to review and edit the alt tags. Don't tick alt tag update if you have already edited alt tags as this overwrites what was previously there.
Found very helpful when contacted.
Easy quick and good - thanks
Only reduces product images, not other images on the site. I suppose my images were ok as it only saved me 4 MB. And I used the highest compression they allow. it works and is good for renaming file names and alt tags. Mine were already optimized. Best used if you upload a few MB per image and want to cut down on file size space and speed of your site. Highly recommended!
Richards Guitars gives this a BIG thumbs up. I have been taking all my own imaged now for several years and I just saved a wopping 400 MB of image memory!!!! 400MB!!
I can already see visually my site is loading dramatically quicker and will keep a close eye on bounce rate, page views etc and ultimately, fingers crossed, conversion ratios improving!
Without question a total godsend for me.
WARNING: Running Minifier will break your images on Internet Explorer. There are some image formats that don't work correctly in IE. Just do a google search and you will see 100's of results about this. Here is one such article on Stack Overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1204288/jpeg-shows-in-firefox-but-not-ie8
We are having to go back now and manually update all our images so our site works again in IE. Total pain in the $&@
