Does not actually reduce the picture size, they stated we need to re-upload with a different size when contacting them which defeats the purpose of the app. The site speed was not noticeably different.
Probably the most annoying is the ALT-TEXT feature. We already have good alt-text for all of our images, but it is a manual process to override all of their proposals (which were not good). Overall not a good app, and we promptly uninstalled.
I used your product for my website https://dresslikemommy-com.myshopify.com and after checking on google speed test I notice no difference. I want my money back. This does not work! I was supposed to have optimized all the images from my website. Well that is not what google says!!!!

Giving this a 3 because it did what it said, but...
At the beginning it asks you to decide between lossless (less compression) and lossy (more compression), and warns you that choosing lossy may result in more distortion. Then, after they warn you that it might cause this distortion you don't get to see what changes were made to your images, you're just supposed to trust they didn't ruin anything and publish them sight unseen.
There is no option to restore all of the images at once if you aren't happy with the results, you have to go through your site and handle them one at a time. Other apps offer a restore option.
Also, there doesn't appear to be a good way to contact the company.
UPDATE 2: I’ve had some ongoing conversations and believe they understand the customer service issues I am concerned with. I’m reinstalling the app and will update again after I get a good sense about the benefits they are providing with the app. UPDATE: Do NOT use this app! I used the updated version last week and now my images are not loading properly. I spend almost 2.5 hours with Shopify and they can't figure it out yet. They said it is most likely this app. Their customer service is "email only". Even their chat converts to an emailed reply asking me to tell them the problem...which I already did. I replied to the email asking for a phone call and didn't hear back. No images = no sales!! If I'm wrong, I'll update my review again. ORIGINAL REVIEW with 4 stars: I've only started using the app. I've only used it for 1 image to test everything out..so far so good.

As the only message that's been received from you directly to us(not to Shopify but to our app ticketing system) was yesterday and as far as I can see, my colleague replied to you directly but didn't get the reply back (probably because you already uninstalled the app by that time)
In the review, you also mentioned that you tried to reach out to Shopify and the developer but never heard back.
Please, be informed that we hadn't received any messages from Shopify to assist you or concerning the phone call either.
If we had, we would have responded straight away or replied to you directly to assist you with the issue.
Moreover, recently we've implemented chat support in our app so we would have communicated to you via chat in order to resolve the issue faster.
All in all, please, sincere my apologies that you've happened to experience some troubles while trying to reach for assistance but as I've previously mentioned, we wouldn't have been able to assist you as no tickets had been received from the Shopify side to us earlier and the only message which was sent directly from you was replied to by my colleague.

Quite pleased-- didn't have a huge number of photos, but I was happy it was so inexpensive to use this. Good stuff.
If I could give this app zero stars I would. Customer service Zero!!! Got this app to try over all of my file names, not possible. All this does is barely compress files. Piece of junk, don't bother.
Hi Justin! System shows that you didn't select an option to optimize file names when using auto-optimization maybe that's why Minifier didn't touch them. Anyway, I emailed you on how we can fix that, just let me know if I can proceed and we'll get the problem solved in no time!
I used this app to help reduce the size of pics on the shop,worked well.. but don't let it change your alt text and photo names. We have completely dropped out of the image search in every cat that we used to be at the top of Google???? Now trying to work out how to reverse all this and the work to replace every alt text and image name is going to be a nightmare!!!!!!
If you have a lot more images its cheaper to use another app like Image optimizer. Costed us about $55 to optimize about 4,500 images which is good but ImageOptimizer is around $19 for 5000 images provided you uninstall after running the app. Our fault for not looking around.
All that being said, we only saw about 7% reduction in the overall image size and only a 1% increase in Gtmetrix score.
Helpful app for shrinking images. Support is extremely helpful.
A great and easy to use app which does exactly what it promises.
We did experience a few technical problems with the app crashing twice before I'd completed labeling which meant it was more time consuming than it should have been but Marius at technical support was very helpful.
