Set order limits on a product, a collection or the whole cart: minimum and maximum quantity, minimum order value and per-customer purchase limits. Rules run server-side in Shopify's checkout validation, not in theme code. Before you publish, put any cart through the simulator and see which rule blocks it and what the shopper is told. Conflicting rules block publishing. Each publish is a version you can roll back, and saved test carts show what a change would do.
