Arbitrary Backend Penalties & Negative Wallet Balance Following Account Manager Intervention.
Beware of Retaliatory / Arbitrary Backend Deductions & Hidden Micro-Fees
Using the Shiprocket plugin on Shopify resulted in an unexpected account deficit. After speaking with an Account Manager regarding unexplained Delivery Boost Charges, backend adjustments were made, triggering a massive wave of retroactive weight penalty debits across our account.
Our wallet went from a healthy positive balance straight to -₹11,293.53 negative due to 74 arbitrary excess weight deductions applied in bulk between October 1 and October 8, 2026.
Key Issues & Statistics (Verified from Account Ledger Data):
Sudden Excess Weight Charges: Shiprocket debited ₹12,472.99 in excess weight penalties (51 Forward Excess Weight Charges totaling -₹8,431.19 and 23 RTO Excess Weight Charges totaling -₹4,041.80).
Wallet Exhaustion: Despite topping up ₹21,103.60 in manual wallet recharges over a 30-day period, the entire wallet was wiped out and forced into a -₹11,293.53 deficit.
Automated Micro-Deductions: Without explicit merchant opt-in, Shiprocket continually auto-debited micro-fees across 266 separate line items:
168 RTO Prediction charges (Low/High/Very High RTO prediction fees): -₹683.92
29 Fastrr integration deductions: -₹972.67
64 WhatsApp communication charges: -₹377.60
30 Delivery Boost & Brand Boost charges: -₹249.77
8 Payment Convenience fees: -₹103.60
The timing of these bulk weight penalty charges right after questioning Account Manager fees raises severe concerns regarding transparency and billing fairness. Merchants should audit their ledger files line-by-line and monitor backend adjustments closely.
THINK TWICE BEFORE INSTALLING SHIPROCKET — SELLERS, PLEASE READ THIS.
This is not just about one bad experience. What makes this even more frustrating is seeing other users and sellers complaining about similar issues, especially around pickups, support, delays, and getting proper resolutions.
My own experience with Shiprocket has been extremely disappointing. Shipments don't get picked up when they're supposed to, and then the seller is left chasing customer support for answers. Meanwhile, our customers don't care whose fault it is — they blame the seller.
And that's the biggest problem.
A shipping platform is supposed to make a seller's life easier. Instead, when basic pickup and support issues happen repeatedly, the seller ends up paying the price with unhappy customers and damage to their reputation.
To everyone considering installing Shiprocket: don't just look at the advertisements and promises. Read genuine reviews and see what other merchants are saying about their actual experiences. If you're seeing multiple users reporting similar problems, that's something you should seriously consider before trusting your business shipments to the platform.
Saahil Goel and the entire leadership team have had plenty of time to build a reliable shipping experience. At this stage, sellers shouldn't have to keep dealing with the same basic problems.
How many times does a seller have to chase a shipping company just to get a shipment picked up?
Shopify should also seriously review the apps available to its merchants. Sellers need reliable tools, not platforms that leave them struggling to resolve basic operational issues.
I personally DO NOT RECOMMEND SHIPROCKET based on my experience.
If you're a seller thinking about installing it, do your research first. Check the reviews. Talk to other merchants. Don't risk your customer experience without understanding what you're getting into.
This is my genuine experience, and unfortunately, I'm not the only user I've seen raising concerns about these kinds of issues.
Extremely disappointed. Poor experience. Would not recommend.
**Think twice before trusting Shiprocket with your business shipments.**
Two parcels dispatched on **13 July 2026** (**AWB 8324747457797 & 8326067331540**) remain unresolved after months of follow-ups.
We were initially promised RTO/refund after 30 days. Nothing happened. After a new AM took over, one shipment was marked RTO while the other remains stuck with no proper last-mile AWB or meaningful update.
Every follow-up turns into the same cycle: **“Send AWB.”** Then silence or “investigation is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, the AM has plenty of time to ask for **more business**, but apparently not enough time to resolve existing lost shipments.
This is not how a logistics partner should treat merchants.
**Extremely disappointed.**
