I have been using the tool for sometime now, and it has been a excellent experience, as one: I don’t have a person sitting and then clicking through everything after every change. We have had changes on production and instead of clicking everything or let it see if tomorrow all works well, Shoptest pinged me that night that add to cart was failing on a collection page.
Setup was quick, maybe 15 minutes. I have tests on checkout, search, and add to cart, and that’s pretty much what I care about.
The tool doesn’t fix the theme for you, but it is the most important thing to know if something is not working, specially if it is cart related.
I’m the owner, and most of the “is this still working” checking used to be me. After our developer pushed a change I’d open the store on my phone, tap through a product, the cart, and checkout, and hope I hadn’t skipped a step. It’s easy to rush when you’re busy, and a page loading is not the same as someone being able to complete a purchase.
Installed Shoptest, pointed it at product page, cart, and checkout, and left it running. No fuss to set up. About a week in it flagged a page that had slowed down after an app change. Separately, a small theme tweak broke a flow I wouldn’t have gone back to retest on my own. Those are the quiet failures you usually only notice when orders dip, or when a customer tells you.
I’m not looking for a tool that does twenty things. I need an early warning that the path to purchase still works when I’m not watching the store. That’s why I kept it.
We use Shoptest as part of our QA process on our store, running automated checks against every new feature before it ships to live website. It catches regressions and edge cases early, giving us confidence that what we build actually works as intended
