Once again, there are more persistent bugs with this app. I have dropped my review down to 1 star due to the ongoing, continual bugs that I have identified. This specific instance is the second time the bug of this nature has happened, whereby the Profit & Loss Report shows a bunch of transactions that have a handling fee of $0.00. Even though, these are transactions that have definned handling fees that were not changed and recalculated. The only reason that I even know that these numbers were off is because a couple months ago I had downloaded and save the Profit and Loss report from May of 2026. Today I happened to go back in and saw the handling fee amount was thousands of dollars difference than it was a couple months ago, which obviously makes no sense. I had brought this bug up to their dev team several months ago, and they fixed it on my account and said that it would not happen again. Clearly that is not the case.

The devs have gone ahead and fixed the PayPal issue described below and are working through some of the other issues... I appreciate that they take their negative reviews seriously.
At the same time, from a customer standpoint, I shouldn't have to be the Guinea pig for their system errors. It was only after I left a 1 star review that they started addressing all of the concerns and patching. Please do a better job of taking your users technical issues more seriously before they get upset and leave you a bad review. Ultimately, I only did that because I had wasted dozens of hours manually trying to reconcile everything.
I am extremely disappointed, especially recently. There are several bugs on this app. For example, in the Orders Report, the transaction fees from any PayPal transactions is artificially inflated. They are applying a third-party transaction fee to every PP order, even if you have Shopify Payments enabled.
From Shopify directly: "If Shopify Payments is enabled on your store then no third-party transaction fee applies".
I pointed this out to their support and they admitted that its a known issue and said it may be fixed by June. They don't tell their users about these bugs, and you just have to figure it out for yourself when your numbers are all off.
There is an even larger bug on the profit and loss report side. Any time you have a substitution order where a customer orders (SKU: A), and then post-purchase, but before fulfillment, they request a substitution for (SKU: B), the system records that as part of 'Returns and Refunds' expense, even though the dollar amount was never captured in the first place (since our payment settings are configured to capture payment after fulfillment). I have news for you True Profit, a lot of professional Shopify sellers configure their settings this way for this very reason. Many customers need to substitute products post-purchase for tons of reasons.
These are just a couple of issues, there are more too. I thought the whole point of this app was to make it easy to track your financials. Now I am stuck downloading the data into spreadsheets and reconciling everything myself costing me hours of time.
***Update: The support team tells me to adjust my PayPal settings to be 1.49% + $0.49 transaction fee to compensate for their app artificially adding a 2% fee that does not exist. I did that and it did not change any previous orders, just forward looking I assume. They have you do these workarounds and they still don't work right.
Also, there are times when you update COGS on the orders report and it does not translate to any changes on that month's profit and loss. The data is either lagging or not updating. And that is even after doing a manual refresh on the P&L. This app has way too many bugs. I think you will be better off with Zapier and Google sheets.

To clarify, TrueProfit is not recording this transaction incorrectly. The reporting currently follows the financial events and transaction data provided by Shopify, and our investigation confirmed that the data shown in TrueProfit is consistent with how Shopify records these order adjustments on the store.
Regarding this substitution-order scenario, our team has already reached out to you via email to better understand your workflow and discuss the reporting behavior in more detail. Additionally, we'd like to confirm that the PayPal transaction fee issue mentioned in your previous feedback has already been resolved. TrueProfit now syncs and calculates PayPal transaction fees correctly based on Shopify's payment data, and our team has implemented a fix to ensure these fees are reported more accurately.

Really good app, only used it for 1-2 days but it seems very accurate and the customer support is amazing. They were very patient, walked me through everything and showed me how to implement things in order to get accurate COGs and shipping fees. It does seem a little bit confusing at first but it gets easy with time and customer support can guide and help you. Highly recommend. Vani was the customer service rep who helped me and he is top class. Informative and patient guy to say I made many stupid errors haha
