The app does what it promises, but it's disappointing that merchants have to pay an extra $15 for functionality that Shopify itself should provide out of the box. Exporting store data is a basic administrative feature and shouldn't require a paid third-party app.
I appreciate the feedback and I do agree that basic CSV exports are something Shopify should be better at.
One of our goals with Altera was to provide this import/export functionality while keeping the pricing simple and predictable. At a flat $15/month with no usage tiers, it comes in well below what some other import/export apps charge.
Our other goal is to build a powerful tool that covers more than just the basics. This includes supporting things like metafield definitions, migrations from WooCommerce or Magento, and an MCP server for AI agents.
