Merchants describe this as an easy, beginner‑friendly SEO and speed optimization tool with clear audits showing what to fix. Many report better rankings, click‑throughs, and faster load times from features like auto meta/ALT text, schema, image compression, lazy loading, and bulk optimization. The 404/redirect and structured data tools reduce manual work, and support is frequently praised as fast, patient, and very hands‑on, even on free plans.

Avada SEO has been a great tool for my Shopify store. It helped me optimize images, improve load speed, and fix SEO issues quickly. The support team is fast and helpful. Perfect for stores with lots of product images. Highly recommend.
Helped me improve the SEO ranking and automated lots of time consuming tasks. Had an issue with the meta but the team fixed it while I waited within 10 mins, very responsive and helpful.
Full featured SEO app is the best one I've tried and handles everything from rich snippets to sitemaps to image optimization to 301 and 404 redirects.
The customer service is great too, especially Ricky, who helped me with a question I had.
We have been using Avada SEO for several years and are quite happy. Today they enabled an important set of features to keep our store boosted in search engines. What a value add! And it was done in a minute. The app is worth the price - you will earn it back quick with their stellar support team.
I am using the free version and so far, so good. No issues to date and the app is very helpful for reining in your content and pushing SEO. Customer support has also been great when I've used it.
The help desk was responsive and showed me where I had two H1 tags connected to my home page. Penelope pulled up my page source code to show me where there was already an H1 tag on my banner logo. So, I just had to delete the other tag.
Installs a theme without asking you, seemed to have broken some things, overwritten readmes within theme files, etc, we had to revert to using a previous version of a theme
Be careful using this app on a customized Shopify site with code edits etc. You'll probably be okay with a stock theme/ new store.
EDIT: As noted by Avada below, the “addition of a lightweight include snippet” appears to use logic that searches for files like theme.liquid or index.liquid. In our case, we had a file named theme.liquid.readme containing critical documentation for custom code changes. Unfortunately, this file was overwritten by Avada, which led us to uninstall the app and share our experience in a review to help inform other users with custom code setups.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re truly sorry for any confusion or disruption you may have encountered. We'd like to clarify a few important points for transparency, especially for other merchants who may be concerned.
1. Regarding the theme installation
Our app does not install any new theme from the Shopify Theme Store. The theme named “Avada Assets – DO NOT REMOVE” is automatically created solely to store your original images, so you can revert to them at any time after using the image optimization feature.
This theme is never published or activated on your store. It has no impact on your storefront or live theme, and it can be safely left in your theme list without concern.
You can find more details in our help center: https://docs.avada.io/seo-suite-help-center/faqs#what-is-avada-assets-do-not-remove
2. Regarding code changes
According to our internal logs, your store only installed the app and performed an SEO checklist rescan — no other features were used.
Additionally, since your account was on the Free plan, the majority of advanced features that could make impactful changes to your theme were not accessible at all.
Our development team also confirmed that the app does not alter custom code or README files. The only action taken upon install is the addition of a lightweight include snippet, which does not interfere with your theme’s structure or custom logic.
We genuinely believe this may have been a misunderstanding or an unrelated issue that happened to coincide with the app installation. That said, we take all feedback seriously and are more than happy to investigate further if you can provide any documentation or specifics about what changed.
3. Note on theme compatibility
Our app is compatible with customized themes, not just stock themes or new stores. Many of our users run highly customized Shopify sites with a wide variety of themes, and the app works well for them. If there’s ever any difficulty during setup or integration, our technical support team is always available to assist.
If you’re open to it, we’d love the opportunity to support you directly and ensure everything is working as expected. Our team is always here to help.
The tool is amazing at identifying SEO issues but to me it lacks enough automation at fixing the issues it finds. I was excited about it then I had to cancel after 3 days and moved to a new tool. I am not happy that I only got a partial refund, even thou I uninstalled the app within the trial period. So keep that in mind as you use this tool.
This app is one of the best SEO tools I’ve used—powerful, user-friendly, and incredibly effective for optimizing my website.
What really stands out is their excellent customer service. Ricky, Max, and the team are responsive, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to help. Whenever I had questions, they provided clear, quick solutions with a personal touch. It’s rare to find such dedicated support!
Highly recommended for anyone serious about SEO. Keep up the great work!
Although it was a challenging start with Avada, the team worked closely with me to resolve issues and have since been great collaborators on other changes. Their responsiveness and willingness to support ongoing improvements have been appreciated, and I’m hopeful that performance can still be optimized in future updates.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — we’re truly sorry to hear that things didn’t go as smoothly as they should have.
We completely understand your frustration with the unexpected issues caused during the support session on April 1st. That was clearly not the experience we aim to provide. Our team took full responsibility for the mistake, and we’re glad we were able to promptly revert the code changes and work with you to stabilize the site. Since then, we’ve also reviewed and improved our internal processes to ensure such mistakes won’t happen again.
Since then, we've appreciated the continued collaboration and your openness in reaching out for further support. It's always our goal to provide consistent value, and we’re here whenever you need assistance.
Thank you again for your feedback — it helps us grow and improve every day.
Kind regards,
Avada Team
