The online chat support is very slow and unable to adequately address questions or concerns. The app itself isn’t very intuitive or clear to use. My goal was simply to exclude certain countries from accessing my website, as I noticed a sudden surge in traffic and suspected bot activity. I blocked all the countries I could identify, but unfortunately, the app failed to do what it was supposed to. I have uninstalled it and will search for a more effective solutions.

The support from Blockify has been stellar. This team has gone above and beyond in helping me deal with the bots that are constantly causing problems. I am not very techy and had concerns about the changes needed to keep my website safe and secure. Louis walked me thru the entire process w patience and efficiency.
Lots of options with this app so you can customize based on the needs of your shoppe and try out many different ways to provide yourself w the protection you need. We had to make a few changes and tweak some things as we went bc the road to blocking bots isn't always clear but he had answers and solutions for me along the way as we problem solved.
Honestly, I am very impressed with the team. Quick response time and they aren't in a hurry to end the chat. They take their time and help to problem solve the never ending saga of bots creating abandoned checkouts. I highly recommend this app.
(it is amazing to me that Shopify themselves can't help us sort this out!)

They advertise saying they can block checkout bots, I get thousands of abandoned checkout bots a day with some placing successful orders, and even after using this app it still continues and support doesn't know why. I do not recommend it if you are having this issue.

Some of these issues can be caused by complex bot behaviors or conflicts with other apps, which may not be fully preventable on our side. That said, we feel responsible for helping you as much as possible and want to make things right.

I installed Blockify to manage bot traffic, but it ended up doing more harm than good. It mistakenly treated legitimate search engine crawlers (like Googlebot) as threats and blocked them. As a result, the blocking screen was indexed instead of my actual product and collection pages, which led to a major drop in my search visibility.
According to Shopify Support:
"Blockify is treating legitimate search engine crawlers as threats and showing them the blocking screen, which then gets indexed instead of your actual product pages and collections."
"This explains why disabling the app a week ago didn't help – the damage was already done to your search rankings, and recovery takes time even after fixing the root cause."
This issue has had a serious impact on my store’s organic traffic and overall SEO health. Even after uninstalling the app, recovery is slow and ongoing.
I do not recommend this app unless you're fully aware of the risks and have a way to control how it handles search engine bots.

So far so good. App has been running and we were able to stop the bot attack we were under. We recently needed held and Vincent popped into the live chat almost immediately on a Sunday evening and helped out. Quick, efficient and professional.

It doesn’t block anyone or any countries, it doesn’t work at all. I tried my website on three mobile phones and asked my friends to verify it for me. It doesn’t work!

Fantastic customer service, Louis didn't take long to get all my inquiries addressed. Been using the app for a few years now, and it has been serving me well. It also has reports for when I need them.
The content protection is also very neat, since we produce our content in-house, it blocks easy theft. If you are looking for site protection or restricting site access, look no further.
