So many issues with customers adding their addresses and being rejected when the address is correct. Also, cannot send a client a Pay Now link if it is subscription based product. With modern e-commerce, that's the quickest way to lose a customer ready to purchase on the spot.

Give my customers more flexibility to manage their subscription. They should be able to add, change and grow the subscription.

It's really too basic.

I created my own custom software to manage my subscriptions business.
Now I only use this app to add the subscription widget on my product page but that's it.

The Shopify Subscriptions app is easy to enable, but that’s where the positives end.

The feature set is extremely limited, with little flexibility, poor visibility into subscription issues, and insufficient tools to manage failed payments or customer experience. For a native Shopify app, this feels unfinished.

Fine for the most basic use cases. Merchants with real subscription volume or customer expectations should strongly consider paid alternatives.

its impossible for customers to cancel a subscription through this app. if you are doing large numbers of subscriptions this would be SUPER CHALLENGING! For my small business the free part outweighs the inconvenience of the customer needing to email me to cancel vs doing it themselves.

Needs Major Improvements for Real-World Merchants
I really wanted to like Shopify Subscriptions — it seemed like a clean, native solution. Unfortunately, it falls short in a few critical ways that make it hard to manage customers and maintain trust.
First, subscription pricing doesn’t update when product prices change. Customers continue seeing old prices in their accounts, which causes confusion and unnecessary emails trying to clarify what they’re actually paying. This should be basic functionality.
Second, there’s no way to “Ship Now” or manually adjust the next processing date. That’s a major frustration for both merchants and customers. When someone wants to move up their next order, the only workaround is to cancel and start a new subscription — which is clunky and completely unnecessary.
I’ve contacted Shopify multiple times, and while support is friendly, these limitations have existed for months with no sign of change. I love Shopify as a platform, but this app feels unfinished and lacks the flexibility that serious subscription businesses need.
Please prioritize these features — they’re essential for merchants who rely on subscriptions to keep customers happy.

There are a lot of featurs that i wish this app had.. namely i wish there was a way that you could see when a subscription was going to be coming due in a whole schedule and not having to click on them individually to see the next subscription date.. also wish they could select the day that they want their subscription to renew. or adjust the date that they picked.

This app works for a very basic/specific use case, but I would not recommend it for anyone with lots of subscriptions. Here are the main issues we ran into:
1. No API. Even though Shopify has a GraphQL subscriptions api, you can not view/edit subscriptions created by apps, so it doesn't help here.
2. No ability to search subscriptions.
3. No way to create subscriptions from the Admin Dashboard.
4. No way to find failed payments so we can follow-up with customers.
5. The UX for updating a payment method is confusing. You have to add a payment method to your account, and then update the subscription payment method. Customers often miss the second step.
6. Cancelled subscriptions can't be restarted. Subscriptions can't be deleted.
7. The export UX is a bit inconvenient. You have to keep the same window open, even if it takes 30 minutes or an hour to export. It would be better if it sends you an email with a link instead.
8. No activity log. We can't see what emails were sent, or what updates were made on subscriptions.

Don't get me wrong, this app works fine for a very simple use case, but it's missing some important features for advanced subscription users.
