USO: Ultimate Special Offers

For weeks I have been struggling with how I was going to implement wholesale and volume pricing without VARIANTS. Shopify has not made this easy and I've been trying to piece together the apps to make this work. Today, I find this app and in under an hour, I have wholesale setup and volume pricing IN PRODUCTION. Little bug here and there, developer fixed within 6 minutes of setting up the account. This app has made my day, definitely worth a try if you need volume or wholesale.

We installed the application to perform volume discounts on collections of products. Unfortunately, it worked sometimes and did not work other times. This resulted in us having to refund customers the discount amount and also pay for shipping since the absence of the discount caused free shipping to be reached incorrectly. We reached out to support since it says Sunday 7AM - 5PM PT and regrettably there was no response. We have disabled the app for now and found another app that works as needed. We really think the product has potential but the inconsistency puts our revenue stream and customer experience at too great of risk to continue. Finally, we were using one of the generic Shopify themes that has not been customized so that should not have introduced any issues.

Overall: Great app that we cannot live without! Allows you to set up promotions without using scripts or promo codes. They have an option for every type of promotion (which we need as a large retail site that runs a variety of sales).

As a shopify plus subscriber we are using this in lieu of shopify scripts which are complicated to set up and non-intuitive to customers.

Functionality: Excellent. Intuitive processes for customers utilizing popups for free items and allows discount codes to be used in conjunction with promos (or not if you don't want to allow that). Free gifts with purchase over x amount (popup at cart screen). Tiered pricing. Shows promotional callouts automatically on product and cart pages. You can even use this if you have a discount code active that you want to notify customers about.

Downsides: The main downside is from an app compatibility standpoint which is not really a fault of USO. This app is not compatible with any checkouts besides the stock shopify checkout. So if for example you wanted to install a post purchase upsell app using a third party checkout, USO would not be compatible. USO if you are reading this please work on an integration with carthook, we'd love to use it :)

Support: Outstanding! Literally the best support we've received from any app we've installed from the shopify store. Extremely in depth answers, speedy support, knowledgable, and willing to help you through any issues. Highly recommended!

I love this app most of the time. It works most of the time. But those 10% of times it doesn't it costs us money every day.

We have an any 5 for £10 off on our website, most of the time it works perfectly. But the 10% of the time it'll not apply the discounts, meaning we have customers compain that the discounts aren't working and refund them X amount. As it doesn't work all the time we're also losing a lot of sales due to abandon carts.

I'd happily pay $200 a month for an app like this to work 100% of the time.

Another issue with it is it doesn't work with abandon checkouts. It sends them an email and takes them to the checkout page where the discounts don't apply. I understand if they have to be taken to the cart page to apply discounts - how about implementing your own abandon cart system which would take them to the cart page?

TLDR: Love this app when it works but unfortunately doesn't always work.

I used this app for the first time to run a big sale throughout my website. It was brought to my attention by some customers that the sale price disappears once the customer tries to check out. I ended up losing several sales because of this. So disappointing

Customer support is VERY slow. Expect for your email to be replied in 3-4 days.
Also, a member of support made a change on my site (a simple task of taking something out of a page) and ended up messing up, making the checkout button NOT WORK?!?! so many of my customers clicked checkout only to stay on the same page. Got lots of emails.
Then I still had to wait an extended amount of time just to get the regular page running again... disappointing.

I am willing to give it another try for upsells. We'll see how it goes..

I'm running a store in Japan and needed to translate it into Japanese. I asked for support and they made the change in less than 24hrs. The app does help me increase the sale a lot !!

Outstanding app. Supplies the bulk of my order increases across the shop. Excellent support too.
