Merchants describe this as a reliable, high‑value tool for post‑purchase communication and shipment tracking. Many praise the fast, patient support and say it significantly reduces “Where is my order?” inquiries through automated, branded emails and SMS. Merchants value centralized multi‑carrier tracking, strong Shopify/Klaviyo integrations, and extensive customization on higher‑tier plans, calling it a time‑saving “game changer” for growing and international‑focused businesses.

I really like this app; at first I had a little problem where a courier was misidentified on the system - after changing it manually in Shopify, Aftership was still displaying the incorrect info - which got me a little concerned - but that fixed itself after I hit "synch" once more.
Creating our own Tracking Page was a nice (free) extra bonus too.
All in all, with the freeness and familiar interface - we knew it well from the dashboard of one of our shipping agents - we're very happy with it.
I'm still trying to figure out how this app works but from what I'm seeing it really has solved many of the challenges we've been having with tracking orders. Hopefully this will help us achieve some or a complete automated trackable shipment. It has always been a challenge keeping customers updated on the status of their order. Even it the shipment is going to be a week late; they still like us when we at least inform them. They hate us when they find out a week later that it's been delayed.

This app works wonders! We can customize the different notifications to our brand using their premium service. It automatically knows when we have new orders and imports them every 3 or so hours. After that, emails are sent out to our customers about their order and the status of it. We also like how it has 1 place to track packages through multiple carriers, which makes it easy for international and UPS Mail Innovations packages. There is no need to go to multiple websites to track a shipment. There could be improvement on the time for the order importer, maybe 1 hour instead of 3 hours. It would also be nice to have the tracking button/widget follow the responsiveness of our website. The url that Aftership supplies us could have room for us to style it according to our brand colors/theme. Other than those few minor things, this app is great.
This is a great app, in that it functions exactly as you would like it do. It does what it sets out to do. BUT, there is one major issue to note, especially if you're shipping via USPS from the West Coast of the US. The text notifications can not be delayed or scheduled during normal (non sleeping) hours. The practical result of this, is that USPS updates package status at 10:30 PM at night (common in city hubs like Los Angeles), and our customers get text messages at that time, and if they're East Coast, it's 3 hours later, at 1:30 AM. This has been a major frustration for our customers, and has caused us to stop using the text functionality of the service. We've contact their support, and there's nothing they are willing to do. I haven't had the issue with UPS or FexEx, only USPS. Fair warning your customers may get texts in the middle of the night.
The worst customer service team ever experienced. Don't trust the 5-star reviews - to get an extended trial for Aftership you need to give them a review, so obviously, most of the reviews are inaccurate. We've had multiple bugs with our paying account ranging from false emails being sent to customers, unable to import from Shopify and even unable to login to our account. All the CS team does is say they will speak with the relevant team, and then never reply back. We're going to try another app that has more functionality and a seemingly better CS team called "Rush". Do yourself a massive favor and just go with another app from the start, Aftership will lose you money and a massive amount of time.
*EDIT* See the other 1 star reviews, they say the EXACT same thing we are. When we first started out, we thought AfterShip was the only app on the market like this, but it isn't. Do some research and avoid this app at all costs. It's more difficult to migrate to another app now than it is to have just set up everything properly on another app.
No issues so far, a very professional app that integrates well with Shopify and other apps that integrates with their api making it seamless. I'm able to use data from aftership tracking to automate emails from my review app (judge.me) triggered once a person receives a product moments later which is a crucial strategy to gaining that all-important feedback & reviews from customers whilst they're excited and it's fresh in their minds :)
I'm sure there are more features to after ship such as SMS updates etc. Which I'll surely implement later down the track as the prices seems fair where you're charged x amount per SMS which acts like a prepaid, not a monthly fee. For the meantime, I'm happy with whats currently available for FREE!
Been able to use their tracking button, a simple yet useful function allowing the user to track shipping progress within their account order details easily.
There's only one thing Id like to see improved is the app initial landing page (store connections) Isn't very user-friendly when trying to find the aftership settings. Only because it's not very clear being a new user trying to find those settings first time using the app. Just a thought maybe make the welcome page the landing page?
Unfortunately, after over 2 years of using this app, I have to change my review. I really loved this app but in 2020 it was getting worse and worse... First, tracking statuses from French Post were not updated so my integration with other app (Judge.me review app) didin't work and my customers didn't receive any demand about reviews and, of course, were not notificated about their shipments. Than, after I let them know about this issue, they changed something in their API I think and few days ago I realized that since 120 days at least (because I can't see any further history) they add my tracking numbers by French Post twice! Once it's added by Shopify integration and the second one is by their API. So I was overbilled for months! You better check your bills if they don't double your tracking numbers. And as a solution they told me to remove the Shopify integration so the tracking number would be added only once... What?! And what about other features for my store which this app should give me? And what about all my money which I already overpaid for all these months? They really don't even feel guilty for all of this and me, I feel robbed. So, after two years I have to uninstall this app because I don't trust these people anymore. Too bad. I'm switching to another app.
I'm new to Shopify and online shopping for Christmas 2014. So far I've shipped out over 200 orders through Shippo, which has made shipping affordable and a breeze.
However, checking the status of shipment was a manual process: opening an order and clicking on the tracking number.
It wasn't until I was contacted by a customer asking if the item they ordered two weeks prior had shipped? Double-checking my tracking number, it appeared the item never shipped.
Wondering if other customers might be affected, I individually went through each order one-by-one, checking the tracking information to find other possible missing packages.
Let me tell you, doing that over 200 times is ridiculously slow (and stupid on my part). But I didn't know about AfterShip at the time.
I don't know how I came across AfterShip, but it was love at first sight. The program was super easy to install and has been a God-send in giving us a birds-eye view on ALL our shipments from one page! An amazing time saver.
I also like the fact that I can override the system by marking an items "delivered" where I've contacted the customer to confirm.
I've been very pleased with AfterShip and believe it will also meet your needs in one simple, elegant, and intuitive interface. Thank you AfterShip!
The support team was super responsive. They helped my right away and were very patient. Highly recommended.
Support is the worst ever. App does not work (not import Tracking numbers from store) support does not react.
