There is not much I can add to previous reviews. I can reiterate this is one of the best apps I have used. I do more Wordpress than Shopify. I had convinced my client to buy a high end theme because there was not the budget for a custom coded Shopify site. The theme's home page was well designed and had several options but I was surprised how bland the rest of the layouts were. I have a technical background but was not very familiar with either Liquid or the Shopify interfaces. This app allowed me to customize the site and avoid the $100.00/hr Shopify expert fees.

Not only is this app is great for someone who does not know much html, css (or sass) -it is timesaver for someone like me - it puts my design/development into power mode. I appreciate how they structured the UI - there is nice feature where you can add a class to your component.

Also their support is fantastic. I admit I did not read the documentation or look at the videos - at first. I would send them email that blah-blah was wrong and they would politely inform me what the issue was. 90% of the time it was my error.

Next time, I will not bother buying a high end theme.

We have had this app installed on our website for several months now, and it does well. I think there is a little bit of a learning curve right at the beginning, but since I have become used to it, I have started to really appreciate the features that help me fine tune control over responsive designs - and now I think it is fantastic! The "screen settings" feature is amazing - I turn pieces of art on and off based on which device view I am working on, to get the best layout for the device screen size. I like the "disable stacking on smaller screens" button, and I like the snippets for easy copying and recreating artwork. It is the kind of program that you can build pages up from the foundations, but once built, you are able to reuse elements, so the time taken to learn the program, and build your elements becomes worthwhile. The measurements for padding and margins, borders, background image position, and many others, also give you the opportunity for fine control over your elements. I have had one or two bugs after a developer's upgrade, but it has never affected the published pages, only the background pages I have been working on (I always work on a copy, not the original), and I have always found the developer quick to respond to requests for support.

I'm a huge fan of Shogun for building custom pages for my store. One of the main selling points for us is that Shogun actually creates Shopify Pages as opposed to creating templates as several of the other apps do. This means the app is not creating tons of templates within the system that are hard to manage or edit. Instead, they are standard Pages that you can even keep if you happen to uninstall the app (this would make editing difficult, but at least possible). The app itself has a great UI that makes it easy to create custom pages, either using their pre-built sections or working from scratch. The ability to edit by break point / device is especially useful and user-friendly. Due to the number of sections available, and tons of customizable options, you can pretty much accomplish any type of layout without having to code. Because the app creates pages, we are also able to accomplish functionality that was specific to our website's needs. We have kept the standard product page, but are embedding Shogun pages for each product below that (using some tag functionality modified from our theme)... telling more of a product story. I'm not usually one to write reviews but this is by far the most valuable Shopify app I have used. I'm CEO of a startup. Our website is really important to us so I hired a professional to create a Shopify theme for us to make sure we got what we wanted. It cost $10k and there were a lot of details we missed, not because the programmer was bad, but because we did not foresee some things. Things that our initial site lacked were a quote request tool, add-on items on the product pages, info bubbles to describe the variant options, and the ability to click the product images to get a bigger view. The original creator charged a high hourly rate so I hired someone cheaper to make the changes. We have used that person for the past 6 months, paying them around $15k, and its been a huge struggle. We used themekit and github to make changes. It would takes weeks to make changes and there would often be bugs and it wouldn't look how I wanted it to. Yesterday I let that person go and then scoured the internet for a Shopify page builder. Shogun had good reviews and was free to try so I added it to my store and within 4 hours I had fixed all of the issues that we have had in the past 6 months! All expect for the info bubbles. So I reached out to their support and got a response in 20min and the told be how to add custom html to add the bubbles. 10min later that was added and live on our site. It was amazing!

I did a free trial with this company. Since they have short trial period, i installed the software, tested it out and then deleted the app. Couple days later after testing out several other options for the same result , i forgot to test another feature that was a must for myself and installed the app again Apparently by installing the software then removing it, and doing it again because of the short trial period, it triggered two charges on my account. One for each trial. Not only is the trial period too short, not only did the they charge my account twice for the same app, i didn't find what i was looking for with the software provided

Nick, contacted myself and clarified the reasoning of the short trial and I agree with him on that, as i did not realize the reasoning for their decision. Having said that, I am now re-evaluating the software again as Nick mentioned a feature that i now need to try again out the software again. Plus a review below mentioned that new updates are coming which will add to the tools and functionality available. This error in payment actually helped me look at this software again, as I was hitting a road block for what I was looking for.

Nick mentioned about 3 months ago that some new updates where coming. I also just reviewed on Sept 19, 2016 couple new editions to the app store as competition. The good news, this will now increase the features and tools for page creation which shopify has been lacking in the past. Will be interesting to see how all these 3 new apps now compete against each other.

Update after years of use -- still one of our best apps for Shopify. Great customer service as well (thank you Chris!) ``````````````````````````````` So, after using Shogun for about 2 months now, I feel like we have enough experience under our belt to leave a review. Unequivocally, Shogun software is our favorite app. It took us a little getting used in the very beginning (maybe an hour or so), but quickly it became very intuitive to use. Once you get going, there really is no limit to building incredible web pages. Let’s face it – Shopify blog pages look like %#$@. With Shogun we are able to format our blog posts to look visually appealing and inviting for our readers. There are options to adjust fonts, headings, background shading and we can add pictures, videos, tables, buttons, sliders to make the post really *pop*. There’s even an option for adding HTML so that you can directly add Pinterest pins. Very cool. All of this page formatting can be done minutes. Best part of Shogun is around SEO – the app allows for you to customize your page titles, meta descriptions, meta titles, etc. So finally you can be found and rank in the search engines. Last point I want to make about Shogun is their customer service. I’ve had to contact Shogun’s customer service in the beginning with a few questions. Their response was very fast, very clear and they provided great direction. There was no need for back and forth communication, which can be a huge frustration and a headache. If you are deciding on whether to try Shogun, I would urge you to check it out. Although they have a free trial period, I’m pretty convinced you will be hooked.

The product is constantly being updated with new features and improvements, while it's easy to use, I'm finding out that I'm just now scratching the surface of what it possible. Just last week, they added a custom templates section and released some major updates that allow you to animate web elements. So if there's something you want Shogun to do, just request it and chances are good that it'll be added in a future update.
