Merchants describe this app as easy to set up with Shopify and very intuitive, even for non‑technical staff. They highlight strong eCommerce features like product catalog integration, multi‑store and multi‑language support, and a reliable live chat with a good mobile app. The AI chatbot and automation flows are praised for deflecting support, boosting conversions, saving time, and being especially valuable for small teams. Support is often called fast and top‑tier.

I have just completed my first week on the trial version and I am liking it very much. I did find the app would turn itself back on afterhours and although I named visitors, they often logged back in under a new ID #, so I wouldn't recognize returning visitors.
That said, I LOVE this app! I made a sale the first day I used it, one that would never have happened without it.
My store does not get a ton of visitors, so for now I have opted to continue on the free version. I only have one convo at a time, I don't use my phone for work.
But if the paid version could get me good info on returning customer behavior or maybe their name before they chat, so I don't have to ask for it, I may upgrade then.
Overall, awesome! Thanks so much :)
The Tidio Chat system has been great for our website, https://geojango.com Customers like the ability to instantly reach out about questions and we can quickly reach back to help in quickly closing a sale. The staff at Tidio has always been quick to help with questions. We are super pleased and recommend their app! We also like the way that we can add animated gifs in the chat and customize the colors. The workflows have been awesome! We figured out a way to block chats from locations that we are unable to service. That has been a great time saver. Just wish we could 'ban a visitor' very quickly. Currently, we have to dive into the Visitor Details 3 layers deep to ban someone that is trying to spam us. Hopefully, this will be available soon, otherwise all else is great!!!
Thank you so much for your great review!
Please rest assured we have already passed the feedback in regards to a quicker way to ban visitors.
UPDATE: The Tidio team was able to reach out to me after this review. There was a misstep in the communications. However, Oscar was made aware of the situation and responded with a top notch, professional solution. I'm leaving the first draft of this review (originally a 2 star) to let people know that Tidio will go out of their way to make things right for the customer. Thanks again, Oscar! First draft: We have had Tidio for close to two years, and it's done what it's supposed to do with no issues. However, now that there is an issue I reached out and they responded with a generic answer. I replied back (twice) with a more detailed response for the specific issue and after 7 days I still haven't heard back. The app did okay while it was functional and I didn't need any assistance. :\
I'm really sorry to see your review. I'm responsible for support in our team and I'll review what happened. We strive to offer exceptional support to everyone and I'll make sure you get it too! Olek
I love Tidio. I'm solo on customer support online, and using their tool allows me to handle customer requests from all my devices no matter where I am. I've set up a number of chatbots (premium feature) to handle FAQ and situations where customers just need a little extra guidance, but it's generally the same set of questions about pickups, wholesale or custom products. When there are a lot of customers shopping, this takes the pressure off an lets me focus on the ones who need specific help making their purchase. Being able to see what pages customers have visited and see their questions as they type them (both premium features that are worth it), make providing support much faster and easier. I'm also really happy with the level of support Tidio's team provides. They've been very responsive and helpful.
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review! We really appreciate all the kind words and praises and are happy that you enjoy our features. Just to clarify, the chatbots are not a premium feature in itself, but their usage limitation is expandable only with a premium plan.
Initially I had tried Beeketing's FB messenger integration but was having major issues getting notifications on my phone -- seemed to be an issue with FB messenger, not beeketing, but still made their app less than great. (also, some of my customers don't have Facebook!!!) I switched to Tidio, using the free version -- glad I made the change, the interface is great for both my customers and me.
I like that they have an app for iOS - I think they have it for android too. Excellent chat management all around, the app is nicely organized and the notifications work. Interestingly you can also hook your FB page messenger up to this and actually receive notifications! 2 birds, 1 app, fam.
Also worth noting that the live chat feature doesn't cut into my theme AT ALL, not on the checkout page or add to cart button for desktop or mobile, and I'm using the Debut theme. If anything, it's even more out of the way, doesn't interfere with scrolling. Everything is professional. I haven't looked into their automation features yet but plan to soon.
Install was really fast. Actually under 20 seconds. A+ all around!
Tidio has a lot features, almost a dizzying amount, but for us, it is not always user friendly to figure out how to use them all. The naming of the features can be confusing and similar features are found in different places. But if you have the patience to really dig in, you will likely find most of the features you would want. On-line chat is very helpful, but again, requires patience to fully understand, as they are well-steeped in the software and you are not..so what seems simple to them may not be so to you! We use our chat app mostly for direct, live chat with site visitors, so cannot really comment on all the auto-responding bots. But works reliably well for live chats. The one feature I WISH they had was to include a "please leave email" field within their bots, so if a visitor needs to leave before you can get to them or get back to them, it is clear and simple that they must leave an email so you can get back to them. This message must be manually entered by you, which makes it a bit harder/less obvious for the visitor, which means they might leave without leaving their email, and could be gone forever!
Thank you so much for the feedback and ideas on how we can improve! We appreciate them very much.
The Tidio product is overall pretty good and we are happy with one day into it. However, prospective buyers should be aware that part of the offering that is promised under the Communicator Plan (the feature "view customer profile") is listed as available. But when a user clicks on this feature after licensing the use of the Communicator Plan at $20/month, the product displays a message "You will need Communicator Plan add-on to view Customer Profile". I queried support and they said it is not yet available so clearly that is misinformation, purposeful or otherwise. I suggested to their representative that this message should either be a 'coming soon' or not be displayed as part of Communicator Plan since it is not available currently under the plan and is misleading ... at best. Since the Communicator Plan is 1/3 of our subscription fee, I can only give Tidio a 3 of 5 at this time as a result of this misinformation. Which is sad because the actual product seems to work but if the information is inaccurate, that's a pretty big deal. Hopefully they will address this published misinformation regarding existing features of Communicator Plan and I can enthusiastically update this review to a 5 star at that time.
Hi there! Thank you for taking the time and leaving your feedback, and apologies for the misunderstanding. We appreciate it and we will do our best to improve Tidio in the future, so that it can become a 5 star app for you :) Let us know if you need any further assistance. Chris
A bit disappointed. I previously used the "Tawk. To" app, but I thought I would make the switch to Tidio because I enjoyed the design a lot better. But here's the problem, there is a big communication delay between Mobile and Desktop. I have to quit out of Tidio and restart the entire desktop application for the interface to mirror my mobile app properly.. Sometimes the problem is never solved when I restart both applications. Right now, the Tidio mobile app is telling me there are 7 people on my website - but the Tidio desktop app is telling me there are 9 people.. Guys, this is a pretty big deal. And because of this error, none of the analytics on the Tidio App should be trusted. I have to ask myself, am I missing chats? Who knows, because it's not reporting correctly. I have missed every single chat I have gotten so far since downloading the application. I never missed a single chat when using the "Tawk. To" application. Tidio never reports correctly since the day I downloaded it. And if you're wondering, Yes- both my mobile and desktop apps are synced under the same username. My previous chat application "Tawk. To" never had these problems, ever.
Unfortunately, I hate to say it but I need an immediate refund. Not only is the app not syncing, but the analytics cannot be trusted due to software issues.

Hi, thank you for reporting this issue and for your honesty. We're now working with our developers to fully understand what caused this issue. We'll keep in touch with you. Apologies for the problem. Oscar & Olek from Tidio.
Storeowners beware!
I seriously don't know how Tidio have so many good reviews, our experience is that it worked poorly and customer care was non-existent until we really kicked up a fuss, only then did they react as they should have in the first instance.
Our issues with Tidio resolve around receiving the sound notifications when a customer has submitted a chat (or a new message) only about half the time which meant we missed a lot of chats. We reached out to Tidio several times for support, they were days, sometimes a week to respond and then we got a bland brush off that it must be a problem at our end with our equipment.
Now we all work from home with different internet, routers, equipment etc., totally independent of one another with no central server and the issue was universal with all of our operators, which kind of gives a bit of a clue? Anyway, we eventually decided that the issue seemed to be mainly occurring if the app wasn't actually open and showing on the screen, we would normally get the sound notification if we happened to have the Tidio screen up in front of us but as we only get a couple of chats a day this resulted in us issuing a third screen to all operators to enable the chat to be visible at all times. This process was worked out ourselves with no further input from Tidio as all they could advise was for us to clear the cache and reboot (which we did on a daily basis at one point to try and make it work properly).
All of the above was a 6 month process of trying to sort out what was happening without support.
What we found in the end was that not only do you need to have the app open on a screen but you also need to clear your cache and reboot every single day and even then it was hit and miss on whether we would get a noise notification.
We made the decision to leave Tidio and one more thing to watch out for, if you've paid for a years subscription and have uninstalled the app due to poor performance and service, you don't get a refund on the remaining 6 months subscription as they have a 'non-refund' policy and it's too small an amount to be worth all the time and effort suing them for.
A lot of these chat apps are similar in that they appear to have everything that you need and would be great if they worked 100% but they seem to be a bit hit and miss in operation.
Tidio is an expensive app for what it does, we decided in the end to employ a third party receptionist company (Pocket Receptionist in the UK), who charge 50% more than Tidio but this has freed us up and we don't have to worry about having to jump on the chat, it's not until we've done this that we realised what a distraction the chat is, even when it works OK. I would definitely recommend this cause of action to anyone as the customer has instant communication with your company (although they don't know it's a third party help), are reassured by professionals either with a simple script or the promise of a call back and you get emails pop through from the third party with all the details on, giving you time to respond when it suits you. It's very rare that the customer needs an instant response, but you get that choice on when to respond as soon as you get the email, so if you need to jump on it to secure an order you can, simple!
If you're going to use a chat service though, do yourself a favour and give Tidio a miss!
Update in response to Tidio's reply:
There was no misunderstanding on our part and we were not offline, as exhaustively explained to you at the time, so please don't try and gloss this over and make it look as if this is our fault as incompetent operators. We had previously used Tidio for a couple of years prior to signing up last year, so were fully aware of how to operate the app correctly. Also, as exhaustively explained before in both chat and emails, there was nothing wrong with the pop up notifications, a tiny red flag popped up when a customer was on the chat, this was often the only way we knew that they were, so for the second time in black and white here, we've had to tell you that it was the noise notification that the issue was with, it seems like you are still in complete denial about it despite the overwhelming evidence proving otherwise, which is a shame because if you didn't treat your customers with such contempt you would be able to build a really good app if you were prepared to learn from your mistakes.
Your chat agents were generally quite responsive, yes, support emails, forget it...a waste of time.
Dear customer, I'm really sorry to see your opinion, and I must respectfully disagree.
The number of good reviews we have received so far is based on our constant work to keep Tidio a valuable service for online businesses. We also strive to provide top-notch customer service to answer customers' questions and quickly fix any issues with our tool.
The notifications problem you reported in September 2022 was a slight misunderstanding of the Tidio features. That sometimes happens, and our staff did their best to explain that you cannot receive a live notification while you're offline and have the Tidio admin panel closed. That is why you need to be logged in and set to online in your Tidio to receive pop-up notifications.
The average response time of our agents for the chats we had with you was around 60 seconds. Once we escalated your request to our Tier 2 team for a more in-depth look, the replies took us an average of 2 hours, which is in line with our standards and faster than many other companies in our industry.
Your account is midway through the yearly subscription. That disqualifies it from a refund due to the Refund Policy, available in Tidio's Terms & Conditions. I hope your newfound system will help you succeed in your business, and we're happy to help you get back to Tidio.
Best,
Olek

i m sorry to say it lags and whern tried deleting its still there on the store and not working fine
I'm so sorry to see your review. Not sure what caused the issue on your website - we have probably the lightest widget on the market. I don't see the chat on your website anymore. Please reach out to me at olek@tidio.net - I'll do my best to help you.
