Merchants describe this as intuitive and easy to use, even for beginners or those returning to email marketing. They rely on it for newsletters and sales‑driving campaigns, praising templates, customization, segmentation, and tagging. The Shopify integration generally syncs data smoothly, with support helping fix issues. Pricing suits small businesses, and live chat support is frequently called excellent—fast, patient, and knowledgeable, especially for sync, SMS, and automation setup.

It just works! Perfect app for my needs. Easy to install and use. There were a few times when I had to refresh manually but all it took was clicking on a button and everything was back to normal. Thanks for the app.
Pretty efficient except for one tiny detail that ends up being problematic : the `create date` field from Shopify is not synchronized with MailChimp when a new customer is created via Shopify API. Any chance this could be fixed?
Hi there, thanks for your review. We do pass the "date added" to Mailchimp as shown here in this example: https://a.cl.ly/nOuD0ww1. If you create a segment in Mailchimp, you can also filter those users by "date added".
Create date per se, would be the same thing, correct? Let us know if we're missing anything and we'll be glad to see what we can do.
Followed instructions from Mailchimp. Installation and syncing was a breeze but unfortunately, we are unable to disconnect Mailchimp from Shopify. Can't seem to find the Disconnect button. Can someone please advise? OR can we simply delete Mailchimp app from Shopify?
Hi there, we saw your review and wanted to reply right away. This wouldn't be a function or feature of the ShopSync app. You can follow how to remove the legacy app here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/apps/working-with-apps
I've used Mailchimp in the past and it was great but I can now see why all the reviews are so bad. It feels like a bait-and-switch scheme. You expect to pay $13 a month, according to what you see in the Shopify app section, then go to their website and find that it's $40/mo. Then you start setting things up and the price starts showing up as $69/mo. Do you know what happens after a customer feels deceived? Uninstall.
We appreciate the feedback. We can connect you with our Support team so they can go over the options with you better. Email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com and they'll follow up with more details.
Was quick and easy to set up the integration following the instructions on MailChimp. I thought I would have to do more ensuring that existing thank you emails and pop-ups would work but they all transferred over smoothly
Smooth and easy transition. No issues. Glad I'm still able to use Mailchimp after all. Thank you ShopSync. Haven't been able to test all features yet except for Mailchimp integration and Discount Code sync which is why I only rated 4 stars but pretty sure I'll be giving it 5 stars once I have had a chance :-)
Most welcome! Anything we can do on our end to update the rating to be 5 stars? Let us know at support@shopsync.io, happy to help anytime.
It will not allow me to give zero stars but that is what this is worth at the moment
After installing this app we have faced many issues:
1. Order not syncing as they should
2. Customers automatically being marked as "Accept Marketing" when the box is not checked in Shopify
3. A huge disconnection between Mailchimp & ShopSync. I got both on email, each pointed blame at the other.
I would not recommend installing this app as it currently does not work as expected. I have been trying to get our problems resolved but unfortunately after 4/12 Mailchimp nor ShopSync will respond. Worst customer service I have seen. Posting here I am sure there will be a response!
Be careful! If your Mailchimp subscribers make a purchase from your Shopify shop and don't choose to subscribe to your mailing list at checkout (because they think they already are on your mailing list) they will become non-subscribed and only eligible to receive transactional messages from you. They cannot be added back to your email list. I didn't realize this was happening until a friend asked me why I stopped sending out a newsletter. I suspect I have lost dozens, maybe hundreds, of my most engaged Mailchimp subscribers because of this.
Hi there, we saw your review and wanted to write back. If return customers who were previously subscribed do not tick the box at checkout, we pass them over to Mailchimp as transactional.
We understand in some situations that this doesn't work for everyone, but since we are not seeing them subscribed in Shopify at the time of the (latest) transaction, the best compromise we can muster is to pass that customer as transactional to Mailchimp. That way, you can still use Mailchimp's automations to trigger abandoned carts and order notifications.
If it's possible in your store, we recommend some help text at checkout to remind returning customers to opt-in each time.
Real quick and easy solution.
Really Great service. Thank you Rhedd
