SO many problems. I spent more than an hour waiting for Shopify help, only to find out that I needed to reach out to FB, but couldn't find a way to access a human from their site. I MIGHT have figured it out myself now, but it would have been nice if FB support was more accessible.
Sorry to hear that you came across some difficulty when using the app, but we do appreciate the feedback you've provided here. I certainly understand where you're coming from on this and I will be sure to pass your comments onto our development team as merchant feedback plays a large part in how our platform and our apps develop and improve over time.
If you've any questions about the app or anything else Shopify-related, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at help.shopify.com/questions. -Oliver, Shopify Support
Keeps saying "The connected Business Manager doesn’t own any Instagram accounts. Add your Instagram account to the connected Business Manager or learn more about how to create a new business account on Instagram
" even though it is connected and was working when I initially set it up...
Thank you for your review! Facebook requires that your Instagram Business page is connected to your Facebook business page and managed by the same Business Manager account. I will send you an email shortly with some troubleshooting to make sure that your account is properly connected. -Emily, Shopify Support
We have been unable to connect the Facebook channel to our Shopify. Despite both being admins, my coworker and I cannot connect the channel. It seems we've exhausted every option for connecting the channel, but to no avail. We wish there was better support for getting the channel set up.
The marketing data (costs, clicks, add-to-carts, retargeting etc.) between Shopify Facebook Marketing and Facebook Business Manager/Ad Manager has many many many discrepancies. If you want to use this app, make sure only to use it for creating campaigns, and not for an updated view of data.
Hi, there! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. This is actually expected behaviour. When it comes to Facebook ads data and Shopify conversion data, you are correct that there will always be data discrepancies between the two.
This is because "third-party reporting platforms aren't able to measure cross-device conversions well because most use cookie-based measurement. People represent themselves on Facebook which allows for unique user ID tracking, resulting in conversions that are captured more accurately. Cross-device conversions from ads are common. Mobile conversions tend to be underreported by third-party platforms that measure with cookies."- Facebook Ad Centre
In simpler terms, if someone clicks on a Facebook ad for your product but didn't purchase at that time, and then later browses your website (directly) and decides to purchase, Facebook will log that purchase under that campaign. In contrast, Shopify will consider that as a direct purchase - this is due to "last click attribution". Hope that provides a little context there! - Brie, Shopify Support
It's creating a second Facebook pixel in the business manager and running it side by side our main Facebook Pixel. This is a issue for medium to large scale stores, the pixels will miss-attribute data between them and destroy pixel learning optimizations generating lower overall performance.
Hi, there! It is expected behaviour for the channel to add a pixel to your online store. If you already have a Facebook pixel, then you'll see an option to change the pixel connected to the channel.
I definitely agree that you wouldn't want to keep two! You can change this by navigating to Sales channels > Facebook > Facebook marketing > Change pixel. You can read more about this here: https://bit.ly/3g2U2dg. Hope that helps!
I had the channel before but they've upgraded it and I love the new features. You're able to set up a sales channel that allows customers to purchase directly through Facebook, and they also provide you with tons of information to help get you started and even sharpen your marketing efforts.
Once I got beyond the small glitch (password), the remaining set up process flowed relatively easily --especially for a "boomer" like me! The process asks the necessary questions I wouldn't have thought to ask. It's also a good thing that everything (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) is all in one place.
Thank you for making this easy and powerful. A direct connection to facebook CAPI is a much-needed solution. I was about to pull the switch on enabling a google cloud server and GTM to accomplish this -- but if Shopify can make the CAPI a one-click setup, you've greatly simplified this. Thank you.
Confusing, especially that it will not work with Firefox. Having a Facebook sales channel and an unsupported Facebook Shop is very confusing. It should be made more clearly that Facebook Shop has been replaced, at least that's how I'm looking at it. I hope I did not remove something that was needed.
I am new to all of this. I use the app to help sell my products via FB and IG. It is really difficult trying to get things to connect. The app ask for things that are not yet available to me like FB Shop. Please fix this so its not so difficult link or connect things. Not sure what else to say here.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. I'd like to help look into this situation further, and learn more about the connection troubles you've experienced, so I'm going to follow up with you via email. Please make sure to reply directly back to my email once you receive it so that I can provide more assistance. Speak soon! - Rae, Shopify Support
